CDL Driver Training
CNA & QMA Training
Harrison County Lifelong Learning, in partnership with Vincennes University, will offer a non-credit Clinical Medical Assistant program to prepare students to perform patient clinical skills in a medical office setting. Clinical tasks include assisting with the administration of medications and with minor procedures, performing an EKG electrocardiogram, obtaining laboratory specimens for testing, and educating patients.
The program runs October 21, 2024 – February 24, 2025 and includes 140-hours of classroom instruction plus an 80-hour externship. The Next Level Jobs Workforce Ready Grant helps eligible Hoosier adults with the cost of training. Contact Shari at 812 738-7736 for enrollment details.
Qualified Medication Aide Training

Take the next step on the nursing career ladder. To qualify for QMA training, a student must be a CNA in good standing plus be able to furnish a work history showing at least 1,000 hours experience as a nurse aide. During training students will learn anatomy, physiology and pharmacology as well as demonstrate competency while dispensing and passing medications. This 8-week course meets once a week and includes 40 hours of clinicals. Leadership Training Series; Stress Management

Offered in partnership with Ivy Tech Community College Sellersburg and Davis Development & Coaching Services, this session will provide students with the tools and resources needed to reduce the effects and impact of stress both personally and professionally. $100 per person. Career Coaches are now at Harrison County Lifelong Learning Monday – Wednesday, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM and Thursdays from 8:30 AM – 1:30 PM. Individuals can stop in or make an appointment to conduct job searches, prepare a resume, complete a skills assessment, develop a career plan and receive information on workforce training, referrals, and placement services. HiSET® Testing
October 24 & 25, 2024
The pencil/paper version of the HiSET exam for the Indiana High School Equivalency Diploma will be given from 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM each day. The test includes Science, Social Studies, Reading, Math and Writing subtests. The cost of testing is $144 for the initial test battery, $28.80 per subject to retest. Vouchers are available to those students who qualify. Please call the learning center for an appointment, 812 738-7736. The registration deadline is Friday, October 18.
